Falkland Polworth 100g

100g hand dyed Polwarth wool, dyed by is here at Petes Fiber Studio. Dyed in a gorgeous gradient going through greens to browns.

Polwarth breed developed in Australia, by breeding a quarter Lincoln and three quarters Merino.

Polwarth is a firm favourite of mine and is a great alternative to Merino having similar qualities and properties to its fibre. It had a little more loft than merino but is just as soft with an average micron count of 21 and a staple length of approximately 10cm.

Polwarth spins well making it perfect for knitwear, it spins like a dream and is next to skin soft making it all that more special.
